2013 White Water River Rafting Guide & River Rescue Training
Orion River Rafting has conducted a Guide & River Rescue training course for potential whitewater river rafting guides for 34 years. Our river guide and river rescue training instructors have more than 100 years of cumulative whitewater rafting experience and every year we strive to improve our program and build upon our successes, as well as our opportunities.
In other words, you will be the recipient of the most comprehensive River Rafting Training program in the western United States --- 13 days to learn the entire range of skills required to be a proficient Class III+ white water rafting river guide plus a final weekend to demonstrate your capabilities.
Orion River Rafting's week long White Water River Rafting Guide & River Rescue course followed by four weekends is both unique and exceptional in the state of Washington. A week on the river under professional tutelage is the best way to learn to read water, handle the raft and understand what it takes to guide commercially. In addition, the week long course gives you the opportunity to determine whether commercial guiding suits you and whether our outfit and staff suits your personality. Guiding is not everyone's 'cup of tea'. The good news? After a week long immersion into the culture of guiding, you should have a much better idea whether it is YOUR 'cup of tea'.
